Principal's Message

Dear Tiger Families,

Southwestern Middle School has proudly served students of Volusia County since 1962. I am excited and honored to join a school community rooted in academic excellence and tradition. With the support of dedicated teachers, staff, parents, and community members, I am committed to making every year an exceptional experience for all students. We are partners in the educational journey.

Southwestern Middle School faculty and staff hold students in high regard and are here to provide a safe and nurturing environment. We understand that middle school can bring about feelings of both excitement and apprehension. Our goal is to build positive relationships with students in order to educate the whole child. 

We invite you to become a member of the Tiger Family. Parent and community participation is essential to our school’s success. Please consider volunteering or joining the School Advisory Council (SAC) or the Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO). The support we receive from these groups are a huge contributor to what makes Southwestern a great school. Together we are stronger!
